Millinery Course: Make Sinamay & Crin Cocktail Creations (Fascinators)

End: 19 August 2007 at 2:00 p.m.

Wonderful for weddings and special occasions.

During this 2 day course, you will learn innovative pattern cutting techniques to sculpt delicate sinamay headpieces trimmed with feathers.  You will also have the opportunity to create exotic feather, sinamay and crin trimmed 'hair corsages'.  Maximum 10 students.

Student will require the following equipment

Dressmaking pins

Masking tape

Sewing scissors

Household scissors (optional)

Thimble (optional)

Sewing needles

Pliers

Tape measure

A hatbox (optional)

Camera (optional)

1 x metre of 12-15mm wide cotton bias binding in a colour to match the sinamay

Good quality sewing threat in a colour to match the sinamay

Good quality ivory and black sewing thread

* 1 x metre Sinamay (£7 for 1 x m = 2 Fascinators

** Feathers £2-£6 each fascinator

** 6” wide crin £1.60 / metrr = 1 to 3 x m per Fascinator

** Millinery elastic

** 2 x small clear plastic hair combs (50p each)
