Introduction to Machine Embroidery

Start: 16 January 2011 at 9:30 a.m.
End: 16 January 2011 at 4:30 p.m.
With Angie Hughes

These beginners' classes can help rusty stitchers as well as newcomers to the art. Learn about your mysterious sewing machine and it's gadgets, have a go at free machine embroidery, unravel the baffling array of needles, threads and other bits and bobs you need to get started. Materials list provided.

Materials list:

Sewing Machine

Basic Sewing kit, scissors, pins, unpicker etc.

Cotton fabric, eg calico, cotton lawn for experimenting.

Machine embroidery threads

Spare machine needles

Embroidery ring 6" or 8" diameter, this is very important, but I will have some for sale.

Please remember your table attachment for your machine if you have one, it's easier to rest your hands on when sewing.

If your machine has a handbook bring it along should any problems occur we would be able to sort them out. Check to see if you have embroidery or darning foot, these are useful but not essential as you can get excellent results without.
