Beethoven's Thirty-Two Piano Sonatas constitute the single most important and influential body of keyboard music from the late eighteenth/nineteenth centuries.
Concert pianist Mark Bebbington surveys the cycle , which includes the celebrated 'Pathetique',' Appassionata' and 'Waldstein' sonatas, from both a pianist's perspective , as well as the wider perspective of Beethoven's creative development.
From the early Haydn-esque works, through to the spiritually enlightening final sonatas, the week-end offers insights into one of the most profoundly moving cycles of the entire piano literature.
